Michael J. Burwell is the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Willis Towers Watson,a publicly-traded company, known within the industry for its global advisory, insurance and broking expertise. For his continued poised success at Willis Towers Watson, Michael has had a track record of a successful career, working within numerous roles at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (PwC). He brings to the table 31 sound and fruitful years with PwC, which commenced with 11 years in assurance practice, working with various audit clients.
Mr. Burwell was subsequently admitted to partnership and started a Detroit-based transaction services practice for PwC. After having much success within the Detroit area, Mr. Burwell took responsibility for PwC’s central region and served as the overall US Transaction Services Leader, after being asked to lead that region. Michael Burwell went on to serve in other key roles with Pricewaterhouse’s management, including being appointed its Chief Financial Officer(CFO) and was later named Chief Operating Officer (COO).
